Hey all,

obviously don't want to turn this thread into a billboard, so hope this is ok...

The 'Fire Force' top fuel car has had to go due to insurance liability issues, also 'Opposite Lock' to be replaced with 'Steer From The Rear', but various other things being added so please keep an eye on http://www.walesmotorshow.com to see any changes...

Cheers,

Toby.

To all...

I've been asked a quite few times now about the availability of camping this year, as some of you may know, we are planning camping next year with all night entertainment and bars etc as the show will be over two days, but we weren't planning on offering any camping this year.

As it would appear this show is going to be very popular and i've had a number of enquiries regarding camping this year (as all the Car Club Cars must be in place by 09.30) I have spoken with the venue and they have said that we can make use of the area within the Racecourse grounds on the left as you enter through St Arvan's Gate for camping for those who really need to camp over if they are travelling some distance, then you are very close to your cars.

This year only, as we weren't planning this, the venue has agreed to let those who want to camp over on the Friday night stay over free of charge (usually £5) i'm told there is a standpipe for water, but I don't know if power will be made available this year...

As this is a bit of a 'last minute' idea, those wishing to camp over on Friday night please write very clearly on the bottom of their entry forms and I will send them a Fri night pass for their cars along with their Saturday Car Club pass and the required tickets, cars without a Fri night pass will not be admitted into the grounds until 07.00 Saturday morning, so please let me know if you would like to do this, I don't want anyone stuck outside on Friday night...

Obviously I will be as flexible as possible with regards the camping, but camping space will be limited so will have to be on a 'first come' basis.

As always, any questions or anything I can help with please ask...

Cheers,

Toby.

Website now updated...

http://www.walesmotorshow.com

'Fuel Girls', 'Sound Off' and 'Trophies & Prizes' links now added and all other links now working among other things.

Have also added a forum (bottom of page) for Wales Motor Show enquiries only, registration is instant, feel free to post any questions you may have, all questions posted will be answered as soon as possible.

I will also post lists of all 'Car Club' entries that have been received in the 'Car Club' forum, if you have sent off your entries and a week or so later you're not on the list of 'Car Club' entries, or if you have any questions please say so, I'd like to avoid any 'last minute' issues.

Cheers,

Toby.

Web site going to FTP. no html.

Yeah, apologies for this, don't know what's happened, but I am assured it will be sorted asap...

If you click on the 'Car Club.html' link (5th down) it works ok, you can then navigate the site using the menu on top...

Apologies again...

Not sure who the car club organisers are, but are we booked in??? :bump:

I'm definately going to this and think the Welsh boys at least should back Tobes to the hilt.:grouphug:

BTW. I hope you all realise this clashes with the Abergavenny Party in the Park and as Chico is headlining :guitar:

there is likely to be a very poor turnout at Chepstow!

To all, having seen a few of the car lists on various forums, i've decided we could put on a 'Modified Car Paddock' within the show, so i'm looking for about 15 top modified show cars.

The owners of the cars chosen will receive a free ticket for the show and obviously all the cars will still be eligible for all the Show and Shine competitions.

Anyone who thinks their car could be in the Modified Car Paddock please post pics of your car in the thread i've set up here..

Cheers all,

To all...

Just a quick reminder that I must have all entries to me by 10th Aug at the very latest, although obviously would be easier for me if it's not all 'last minute' so you have about 5 weeks before you must have sent off your entries for your 'Car Club' passes and any advance tickets you want...

I have noticed a degree of confusion regarding 'Car Clubs' and the related ticket prices, so let me take this opportunity clear this up quickly...

Entry to the 'Car Club Area' is free but only with a 'Car Club' pass, all 'Car Club' cars will get exclusive access to the 'Car Club Area' through St Arvan's Gate from from 07:00 to 09:30, this will mean you won't have to queue with the public traffic and will ease any congestion.

'St Arvans Gate' must, and will be shut at 09:30 as instructed by the Traffic Police.

All 'Car Club' traffic will be GREEN TRAFFIC (see map below).

Have done a small map, the 'Car Club Area' is shaded in Green.

http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/864/wmstrafficmanagementrevised7vo.th.jpg (Clicky)

Entry to the 'Car Club Area' is free to all 'Car Club' cars but must have a 'Car Club' pass which must be issued in advance, no cars will be allowed through St Arvan's Gate without a pass and 'Car Club' passes will NOT be issued on the day.

Entry to the rest of the show (through the turnstiles) is -

£6 for drivers of 'Car Club' cars.

£12 for passengers 16 and over

£8 for passengers 9yrs to 15yrs

Under 9's are FREE

All these are advance ticket sales only, the £6 'Car Club' drivers tickets will only be issued with a 'Car Club' pass.

Tickets can also be purchased on the day -

£14 for 16yrs and over.

£10 for 9yrs to 15yrs.

Under 9's FREE

It's also worth noting entry to The Meguiars Show & Shine is £10 on the day, but £9 in advance, so for drivers of 'Car Club' cars can have entry to The Meguiars Show & Shine and an admission ticket for £15 (obviously in advance)

If anyone is travelling some distance and think they may struggle to get to Chepstow by 09:30 then the venue has agreed to let those in on Fri evening and they can camp, the camping area is also through St Arvan's Gate but turn left once inside and head for the grassed area.

Anyone wishing to do this please say so on their entry forms.

There is NO charge for camping this year.

Car Club Entry forms...

Group Booking Form - http://www.walesmotorshow.com/pdf/carclubentry.pdf

Single Booking Form - http://www.walesmotorshow.com/pdf/indventry.pdf

Should anyone decide to come after the group booking form is sent off please use the single booking form and i'll add you to your club.

Any questions or anything I can help with please ask...

Cheers all,

Toby.

Ok, because I am lazy and cant read very good :) Which ticket do I buy?

Are we having a club stand like in Japfest last year?

All Supras on the Supercar lawn, rest in the sheds :inno:

Depends...

If you'd like to put your car forward for the 'Modified Car Paddock' and it's chosen then you can have a free ticket...

http://www.lupisites.co.uk/walesmotorshow/viewtopic.php?t=7

If you are coming along with members of the forum and don't want to get into the main show area then it's also free...

If you want to come into the main show area and you're bringing your car along to go on the MkIV stand then you'll want a £6 ticket...

Does all that make sense...? :)

£6 ticket for me I think. Not into all the competition stuff.

Looking forward to it!

P.s. Have we got a big Welsh gathering going up to this one? Maybe we should sort something out, as its the one and only Welsh show for us :)

To all..

A few things...

Firstly, although we have a few, we're still looking for some more modified cars for the 'Modified Car Paddock', although we have some, there's still room for some more, all cars chosen for the paddock will receive a complimentary ticket to the show and all will still be eligible for the Meguiars Show&Shine classes. If you have a modified car and would like to put it forward for the paddock please post pics here...

Have had a number of enquiries regarding 'Miss Wales Motor Show', it would appear everyone is being a tad shy... http://www.swcruise.co.uk/forum/images/smiles/blush.gif ...don't be, we just thought it would be nice to use someone who is into their cars and is supporting the show, so come on girls, if you don't try you'll never know...

Have created a forum here for you to post pics on...

http://lupisites.co.uk/walesmotorshow/viewtopic.php?t=9

...but if you'd rather you can e-mail me please do...

[email protected]

Also, the website has been taken down for a couple of days for some further updates, i'm told it will be back in a few days, so apologies for that, but the 'Car Club' page is still there with the relevant booking forms at the bottom...

http://www.walesmotorshow.com/carclubs.html

Finally, i've set up a sub-forum on the WMS Forum for everyone who are attending The Wales Motor Show '06 to promote their clubs/forums here...

http://lupisites.co.uk/walesmotorshow/viewtopic.php?t=10

Please feel free to add your club/forum to the thread and promote it...

Cheers all... http://www.swcruise.co.uk/forum/images/smiles/drinks.gif

WalesMotorShow http://www.wpce.org/forum/html/emoticons/Wales.gif Layout -

Please be aware there is a 10ft fenced gap from the grandstand to the racetrack that runs between the Live Action Arena and the Car Club Arena, also the Car Club Arena stretches over half a mile to the right (where St Arvans Gate is) but is not shown in the layout below.

This first image was taken from the grandstand, gives one a slightly better perspective of the Car Club Arena, the second image shows the traffic management which will be in place on the show day, and the Car Club cars entry point through St Arvans Gate.

Hi Tobes,

I've been trying to talk my father in law into supporting this as he has a 1964 mini cooper S which is as per monte carlo spec. It was off the line straight after the mini's that gained 1st, 2nd and 3rd over a period of 3 years back in them days.

Is this something you would want in the modified car section or would this be better placed in the rally section. (Or indeed is it not welcome at such a show!!!) Recently it spent the WRC week in the window of Howells in Cardiff.

It looks better than this!!!

vvteye... quality car mate, have spoken with the powers that be this morning and all agree that we should have that car on the 'SuperCar Lawn', not all 'SuperCars' are Ferrari's mate...

If your father-in law is agreeable with that, we'll send him a free ticket for the show and the car will be with the Zonda and Ferrari's.... :)
