i have the anodised blue ones (shock horror, the end is nigh)

 

have looked at the faces and they don't look that bed, must be 3-4 years old.

 

are all of them crap, or was it that some were made before/after a certain date

Mine looked fine too...then stripped the teeth off an almost new belt

Yes.

 

I have the original ones on mine, been on for 5 years mine still look fine, I use a Power Enterprise Super Strong timing belt with them.

 

The new HKS adustable timing gear model (new design and material) are made from a lot harder material.

Had mine on 5 years also. No probs yet.

may not need to change then, looked at the teeth and there is only a slight fading of the anodised blue colour.

 

maybe there was a bad batch of them made at some point ?

 

hopefully me and b'have don't have any from that batch
