I have the SM4 and CDI units in the car.. but Mr Sheed mapped it himself, cant see how it would auto tune the car, unless you mean that once its mapped it then self learns for differnt conditionms etc.. Can defo reccommend Mr Sheed and the Autronic system... pushes my car along superb

My experiences with the 'autotune' feature of Autronic have been traumatic.

Don't buy it without written guarantee that it will work as claimed, and without making clear what other hardware needs to be present.

Also avoid complaining on their forum in any way shape or form, otherwise you'll be banned immediately (you can only be invited via your local dealer *after* they've seen your cash. )

Thats enough to put me off.

My choice for the next car is VVti or non vvti. Non means AEM, i have no probs with that. However vvti........now thats a different story. I would ideally like a system that worked stand alone, removing the top speed limiter (hks fcd is a farse at 169mph) and needs to have an adjustable rev limiter simliar to AEM in features.

F con - means tied to small dealer network, and needs stock ecu top control the vvti. Mapping costs seem massive?

Motec PnP when it arrives - a possibility.

any other ideas? or is mapping vvti a real bad idea due to complexity and cost?

was that refererence to me John?

If so, no of course it didnt do ignition, and yes I still have the type B AFR analyser, the same one many Rolling Roads use.

Nope, does not do ignition, i dont know any aftermarket ECU that auto tunes ignition, it can trim ignition with knock detection, egt etc but not update the static map.

Yes it requires a wideband :)

Which over priced wideband are you refering too as the AEM ECU can use most wideband controllers, well actually any wideband controller which has a 0-5v output, you just need to setup the values within the table, very easy.

of course not, it's still vapourware

ofcourse it does, but why did they have it rigged to work only with their own £1500 unit?

That was around 1.5 year ago, now they've probably backed off as wideband prices have plumetted.

Their responses were so unprofessional and aggressive (thuggish more like) that I'd think twice before parting my money to them.

Hopefully they've got their act together now, who knows...

I have never known of the AEM only using the AEM wideband, it has always utilised a configurable 0-5v input, i have had my AEM for well over 1.5 years.

What AEM unit are you refering to for £1500, i have the first generation AEM wideband, single chanel not gauge controller and have had for ages and it cost me no way near £1500, in fact the reason I went AEM was that they were so much cheaper than all the others.

Maybe I misunderstood and you are refering to the autronic which I have no idea about.

So you had an e mail from them too, I am surprised it doesn't read "Yo! MO FO Sup dude, yo retard cant work da brain, no shit, can type any more, .44 under left arm, and bag of heavy shit under the other, go play in the traffic loser!"

AEM customer service, who the hell do they employ to answer emails, phone is the only way with them. Alternatively, you could just employ Dimitri, and have your car run like an angel.

not like this, but were unprofessional beyond anything I'd expect. Unwilling to do anything their local 'dealer' wouldn't oblidge as well, he proved to be a plonker and that was that. They didn't want to know.

Bargepole as far as I'm concerned.
