 Its Sunday and just discovered the top part of the rad is cracked so I urgently need to get a new one or get it repaired (no other car to get to work!) - I have an L reg jap spec Supra Auto TT. Also I need to get a bottom pulley. Is this something a local Toyota dealer would beable to sort out. I'm based in Hemel Hempstead. Really appreciate URGENT help!!!

I know of a car sales operation in HH who sells a lot of Supes. It might be worth contacting him to see if he knows of anyone local who could help you.

Their contact details are:

Simon

D. McMinn Car Sales

233 London Road

Apsley

HH

01442 262020

07775 500595

You can tell him that I passed on his name.

Mcminn is on the same road I live (bought an FTO from them few years ago) - thanks for advise - i'll try calling them. Do aluminium rads cost a lot more? How much do the rads normally cost anyway? Car has some mods eg HKS exhaust. The fluid that came out after draining rad was completely brown - is this just cost its dirty water - not special fluid or anything?

Just spoke to Simon - he was really helpful - he'll see if he has rad in stock tomorrow am (cheers Colin!) Simon also suggested I contact Harpers (now Andrew Roleys) toyota dealers in St Albans for bottom pulley. Fingers crossed! He also said that the fluid that should be in rad is 4life (a reddish colour) - maybe that's what I have just drained out thinking it was dirty water :(

yep - we could have spoken as I was looking for a Supra for a while - typical that I got the one I most liked then the rad cracks up on me!!!! Just bought my new bottom crank shaft pulley - phew - bad time of year to be spending but poor ol' batmobile needed a bit of help (or rather a lot it seems!!!) Is it normal for these crank shaft pulleys to cost £200 inc vat? I guess they are pretty damn important as nothing much can work without it. I've already sorted a rad - well I should know tomorrow - County rads in hemel - thanks for the contacts though - much appreciated!!! Will call Chris if still have probs - i would have got rad from Mcminns but had already sorted something. Apsley motors would have charged loads just to mend the crack (£240) whilst County rads said £170 for brand new one! Should have all sorted by Sunday I HOPE!!!!!!! Doing my head in getting lifts in other people's cars!!

The stock crank pulley incorporates a two-way damper which smooths put cranktrain vibrations. Its a specialised part, so £200 doesn't sound outlandish.
