oil on plugs

Recommended Posts

Just as a follow up to my last post my car is still ill. Ive just removed the coil packs and plugs. The plugs were conpleatly black with oil on them. The plug nearest the bulkhead was dripping with oil. Anyone know why this could have happened.

Ive had a nightmare with it since yesterday.

Sounds like the cam cover is leaking, check all the nuts and tweak them up i suspect some will be a bit loose.

i agree, the sparkplug pots were probably filled with oil due to a leaking camcover gasket and as you removed the plug, it has coated the threads on the plug. i had the same problem when i first got the car. i replaced my gaskets though as they were hard and were only about £12 for both iirc
