JohnA
You've got a FullThrottle switch or something and when it senses 'Go' all non-essential functions are suspended. I haven't got first-hand experience, just read about it on a couple of Yank books with drag 'tips' I think some had a badass high-voltage battery running the show while the alternator was set to sleep during that period. The stock supra uses some of this mentality for example the aircon disconnects during full throttle, doesn't it?
JohnK
You could buy a box to do this, was widely advertised a few years ago in all the mags. Was called Alterpower or something similar, around £100 IIRC

Yes as do most stand alones, but not sure if it TPS, RPM or speed related
b_have
Don't think this is what I'm looking for, already dumped the lardy a/c pump, looked at electric waterpumps but decided against. Would have thought a 10% underdriven wp/alt would be ok bearing in mind I am raising the revlimit.
Digsy
Mechanical water pumps take very little power to drive and there's huge scope to cook your engine with an aftermarket electrical one if you get your sums wrong.
Lucifer
Not fitted one but Im pretty sure they are mechanical as well. Just aides turn off / idle cooling.
Digsy
You are talking about recirc pumps which are small and run for a while after shutdown (an alternative to turbo timers on water-cooled turbos). There are aftermarket pumps out there that claim to be able to replace your primary coolant pumps, and indeed they can but only if you get your sums right and are happy to take a few risks. The phrase "race use only" springs to mind. Check out Demon Tweks for the Davies Craig EWP80 and EWP110 to see what I mean.
Ian C
Perhaps you should just wind the boost up 0.01bar instead Charlie -Ian

Also trying to improve off boost response.

Digsy
In the OEM world we are on the verge of a big shift towards electrically driven ancilliaries, but the move is being driven by engine downsizing, where the % gains are a lot higher.
