RedM Posted April 17, 2006 Share Posted April 17, 2006 Went to Whitby today and on the way back we headed out of town on the A171 and turned off for Egton. Headed over the moors towards Rossdale. Oh. My. God. Mental roads. No traffic so the temptation was to go fast but so many bumps we nearly got airbourne. No way a lowered or kitted Supe would make it. One section ( head from Rossdale towards Hooten le-Hole via Hooten Chimney) contains the steepest road in Britain. It was like driving up a wall with really tight 180 hairpins that were beyond steep. Broke traction going round them. It was awesome. Later, got invovlved in a battle with a friggin new Beetle. Pissed me right off by going to overtake a car (with me following) but slowing right down as he passed it forcing me to abandon the move. Got him later. Nice straight stretch out of a tight corner.
