Guest Paul_Supra
Worn boot rubbers. I had a creak with my boot for ages. Totally stripped it out, then drove round with no spoiler on and tried everything. Ive found its the 2 little blocks of rubber that are worn and giving no play. Scooter
there's two rubber pieces in the drainage slots on the car body, and there are two harder plastic/rubber bits on the bottom of the hatch that rest on them when the boot is shut. Try putting blue tac or a piece of foam in between them and then go for a drive........

Paul
Do a search regarding changing them as the screws are loctited in and you'll strip the heads if you don't heat up first. Paul

smithn05
I used a couple of pieces of thin, cut cloth stuck to the top of the rubbers, stops them rubbing on the other stops (on the tailgate), the creaking comes from them rubbing. That lasted for about 12 months, then bought new ones. Buy new ones from Toyota (they are about £8-£10 each) and it stops it imediately (they have slightly redesigned them). Guest mk47
i cudnt believe how silent the driving experience was when i used the sponges.. of course the boot wasnt closed but it definately worked! may pay a visit to toyota sum time this week and get new ones! appreciate evry1s help though definately! might try your fix mate with re to the cloth peices until i get new ones! flukey-lukey
this is what you want mazkarim! thought they would have been cheaper than this though!! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Toyota-Supra-MkIV-Boot-Tail-Gate-Rubber-Full-Set-of-4_W0QQitemZ4632038267QQcategoryZ10428QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
flukey-lukey
OR this one! same seller, but not on 'buy it now' so you might get them a lot cheaper http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Toyota-Supra-MkIV-Boot-Lid-Tail-Gate-Rubber-Lower_W0QQitemZ4632041478QQcategoryZ10428QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
CardiffSupra
Cut a sponge into 3 peices and place them on the boot rubber and slam the boot shut, then go for a drive. I did this but cant be botherd to get any rubbers now
smithn05
Dont have the part numbers anymore but Toyota parts guys immediately knew of the problem and quoted part #'s without checking on the system. Only buy the bottom ones though the top ones are fine. Undo the 2 screws in each first though as they are VERY tight and you might knacker one or two of the screw heads and need some new ones too!! I ended digging around in my old spare screw drawers and fitting a manky old screw until I could get another one!!
