Steve W2
Need your help please peeps. My battery 'appeared' to lose charge the other day when I left the ignition on for about ten mins with the radio on. When I tried to start it I was getting a very fast 'clicking' (relays?). I left it a while to recoup and it still did not start. Ended up getting jump started. The thing is when I come to start the car in the morning (even when ICE cold) its starts first time. This is the second time that this has happened now. I have also noticed a small misfire every now and again and a engine stutter under load. Do you think its an HT/battery problem. Or is my car destined for the scrap yard? Thanks for any help/advice in advance.
SkyJawa
Sounds like it could be the battery. Mine went, and jump started ok and started afterwards kind of ok, but I've replaced the battery and its fine now, can listen to the radio for 30 mins with the engine off and it still fires sharp and fine later! Cost me 39.97 fitted for my JSpec from Bracknell Tyre and Battery
Sharpie
If it's over 12 months old I'd buy a new one.

AJI
In the cold weather the battery is under great strain when it comes to car starting. In the cold months I always check the distilled water levels in the cells. Make sure they are always full up. I saw a graph of some sort ages ago (probably back in my uni days) about how the charge drops with regards to temperature. I'll get to the point..... you probably need a new battery. Or the distilled water levels have drop too low and your battery is not able to hold enough charge for what it needs under the cold starting temps.
