Bob
After 150,000 miles it has finally attempted automotive hari-kiri. The Citroen AX that is. It's actually still running but the tax and MOT just ran out, as well as the front shocks need replacing, the rear torsion bar thing is more like a bouncy castle, and more embarassingly, it spat it's headlight out at the weekend. Driving along at 40, and suddenly there was a pop, shatter, and crunch as I ran over my own headlight. On the downside, it now means I have to use the soop to go to work, so I can't get my new bumper fitted or sprayed in time for the wedding Ah well, time to look thru Autotrader for another daily shed. Tried to persuade the missus that a little Starlet turbo or Charade GTTi would be economical, but I've been told "strictly no turbos"
SupraStar 3000
my Fiat Uno 45 was like that. Bits falling off on every journey and funny coloured smoke spewing out from the exhaust. It was like going to work every day in the B-17 Memphis Belle. Once called out the AA as the gear selector had poped off from the gearbox. He said he could tempararly tie it but it would need replacing soon as I got home or to a garage. Its still like that after 4 years.
Bob
My exhaust fell off as well, but the nice AA man strapped it back into place and smeared 2 packs of putty stuff around it, telling me to get it replaced ASAP. That was 2 months ago. And I refuse to wash the damn thing out of principal!
