does anyone elses auto nasp have a problem where it just runs out of power at 5K revs in 3rd with manu enabled? When i switch off manu it continues to pull again?

is that something todo with the speedo conversion? is it legal for me to run the speedo in the standard configuration (in KPH)?

yeah noticed mine doing that but with the O/D, foot to the floor in third and click the O/D on and it suddenly pulls harder. I've been ignoring it, i don't understand why it should make any odds. I bet it's the same on yours since the Manu button disables the O/D.

mine does it when O/D is off too and when u switch it woompf loads of extra power... weird

has your speedo been converted? its hard to beleive our cars left the factory like this...

this problem also makes me wonder if there are any other glitches in the power delivery

I'm just guessing really but if the Autobox ECU takes a speed signal then maybe it's getting the wrong signal now it's been converted to mph like what happens when the power steering is too light.

I'm probably totally wrong.

Its actual Torque converter slip without the manu button on you are experienceing when turnign it off half way through the rev range. Normal.

If i've read that right then your saying the Torque converter is slipping when the o/d or man button is turned off allowing the revs to shoot up about 1000rpm. It makes sense but i'm sure my one pulled harder after the revs shot up.(Ah wait, the revs shoot higher and into the engines power band and the car feels quicker than before).

What causes it to slip?

it actually completely stops accelerating all together at 5k in manu mode.

I can let off the throttle entirely and back on and still stopped dead...

switch of manu mode and it starts pulling again. :search:

I was thinking about this thread on my long drive back from Harrogate just now. I was assuming you meant what you just said - loss of power after 5k, but then I though 'what if he actually does mean lag - then what Martin says would make good sense'.

Anyhoo, you mean loss of power at 5krpm with MANU on, and that's what I just tested out in my car on the way back. My car kept pulling all the way to 6,000 when I lifted off 'cause there was a copper on the other side of the motorway. Was about 120mph on my over-enthusiastic clock.

Something's wrong somewhere matey. My car was pulling hard all the way.
