Trac off

I just bought the hks traction control removal kit.

However after reading some info, I have found that you just need to un plug the trac box next to the ecu on the 6sp , is this true?

So I dont need that removal kit?

the butterfly in the throttle body is supposed to sap power, even when not in use,the HKS kit removes the butterfly and blanks off the holes

As I understand it, the Trac can be removed on a manual. Or you could pull the fuse.

I think, based on reading Supraforums too much, that removing the trac butterfly allows a better flow of air through something.

Don't do it on an auto though.

yeah second that.

if you remove the trac fuse out of fuse box that can shorten the gearbox life. but you can get a spare autobox for 200-250.worth giving it a try i think.IMO

£200 where from?????

After reading Supra forums I would love to take out that hunk of crap (butterfly) blocking the intake but sounds like I am tinkering on the cliff edge of transmission failure with my 3800 hi stall and 500bhp. Think I'll just take the fuse out for racing and leave it in for street. Shame though car is not such an animal with the fuse in. Perhaps I'll win the lottery and buy a BL TH400 transmission.
