I would like to know why when ever i look at a silver supra (including my own) could someone please tell me why the rear bumper (plastic) is always or nearly always a different shade to the rest of the car? is it just that because it is plastic or is ther anyway of getting to match the rest of the car?:search:

Maybe totally Brighton this, but I was told by a body shop years ago (I complained about a repair on a silver car) that metallic paint has a grain (the metalic particles I assume). The grain goes in whichever direction the last pass of the spray gun goes. Any part of the bodywork (doors / bumpers) that are sprayed seperately from the shell can sometimes have the grain going in a different direction, which gives a slightly different effect in some lighting conditions.

Every days a school day. you can't go edge to edge with metalics as the flake can lay different due to gun pressure and the style of the sprayer. It needs to be blended into the next panel to lose the colour difference, thats why metalics are more exspensive to do small repairs to;)
