gaijin
I know this nas been posted before but i am knew to Supras, therefore, stupid. All was well one day, literally, the next no boost in the second turbo:reaching about 0.4-0.5 onlly(if that)Has a GReddy controller wasn't making vacuum(no minus boost showing)Found a piece of pipe t'd in to the vac. line, blocked it off, vacuum again but no boost. This pipe had to have been connected somewhere or blocked off as vacuum was made before(top right of engine near the inlet and injectors, towards the rear)A boost gauge may have been fitted here, don't know.Have been over the connections 'tll i'm boggle eyed;cannot find anything loose or disconnected.Truthfully i don't know what i am looking for except help.Is my ship sinking already,do i need a lifeboat? SteveR
Most likely, from my gained knowledge on this forum, you have popped a hose off (or split a hose) - nothing serious but you need to look & feel VERY carefully for a likely culprit. Boost doesn't just dissapear from one press of the trottle to another unless a hose has popped off (waits to be corrected!!) HTH
gaijin
Many thanks. It took me 4 years to learn the c20let engine (sort of)in the Calibra, now i have to start all over again!

piehound
the t piece cud have been fitted to increase boost, post a pic if you can someone will see it, cant find the link to it now but its something about fitting a t and leaving it open to up boost
JohnA
The supra sequential has a handful of actuators and amal valves (called VSVs here) scattered around the bay, so boost control is not as straightforward as on a single turbo engine. You'll get the hang of it eventually, don't worry. Here's some bedtime reading for ya:blink:
wkdtime
If its not a boost pipe, its most defo a VSV valve, i had the same problem.

Ian C
Yay merge threads worked! That hose looks like it is T'd into the MAP sensor and fuel pressure regulator hoses - this is a great place for a boost gauge, but it's a shit place for a gaping hole to atmo. Don't drive the car with this hose open as it'll be a boost leak and can make your car run lean by giving incorrect readings to the sensor and the regulator - bad bad bad Block that up (or, preferably, delete it and the T piece completely with a new secion of hose) and then give us a description of how it behaves. Check out this FAQ and see if you can match your symptoms to the "when things go wrong" bit. -Ian
gaijin
Thanks Ian.Have sealed the hose, but to no avail;still no boost, although i think it is a wee bit better, but not as it should be.That's a great link.Good photos of the trouble spots.I have looked and looked;but i will look again(live on a main road,no driveway)There is a really good bloke here,Michael White, works on japanese cars;races a Nissan Sylvia(think, with about 700 brake)does all the work himself, has had a quick look at it,nothing obvious,so will get it into his garage next week for really good look.He said he will test everything he can to find the cause;that link will be very handy ,as well as your advice.Much appreciated, thankyou. Will let you know how it goes.
