sarjo
Can anyone share their experiences of doing this? Where do you start?
Lucifer
You simply buy a boostlogic box from teh states. Its alot easier and cheaper than trying to do it yourself, and get a PI Hi-Stall torque converter. £1750 for the box and £750 for teh Torque converter from us btw. Lucifer
This is an exchange unit and comes ready to bolt up. The lead time on this is 4 weeks and the Fitting cost is around £400 from us wich includes new tranny fluid, or you can use any local garage to you and we can ship the unit to them. My auto box has seen 55,000 miles what age & mileage & condition would the exchange box be? Or is it the same box back? Pardon me for being blonde!!! Is it a case of I pay you, you order box. When its in, I get car to you then you swap them over? Or is it you need my box then I have to wait 4 weeks wihtout transmission???
Lucifer
No it is a swap out. YOu will be without your car for 1 week. You get a complete differnt box.

terribleturner
Wow that is cheap. Have been thinking about buying a spare just incase, then it's sat there ready to go on.
bedlam
Mark if you are going to do the box mod disregard the little typo i made..ie the bit about turning the pressure regulator...you need to turn it to the RIGHT so that the unit is now set as far in as possible..if you go LEFT it reduces the pressure on the box...and you DON'T want that . Bob
I'd be interested in getting one of the shim kits if possible; could I just buy it off the chap on the thread (mrdsukautos)?

sarjo
This wont actually strengthen the box though. If you want to put more power through it, it will need uprating. Right?
bedlam
b'have..any shims dimensions/updates?..the shims are 20/21mm round and the depth you know..as for updates..there might be some comming..Like i say on the original thread this is NOT my mod..it was done by a lad called Jared from the Suprafroums..in the states..we talked with him in private and told him we would do the mod on the soarer box..and do another writeup...he is very busy with real world things right now..but is working on some other mods.. Bob..yes give Dean (mrdsukautos) or just have some made up outta metal bar..or light alloy.. sarjo..no it dont strengthen the box, infact it puts a little more strain on the box due to the higher pressure and quicker shifts it will have to do..and it is advised to fit a tranny cooler if you want to do this mod. Andy PS i am awaiting a MV auto shift kit which will be pulled apart to see what it is exactly they do or dont do to the valve body....as i have now heard they dont actually do anything to the valve body itself.
