Whitesupraboy2
Well i just rang place that had serviced this car since being bought into the UK from 1997, he tells me they have never changed the cam belt, seeing as it says it done 79,000. i want to get this done ASAP. and at same time have a service done. I know a mechanic who will do it at his home, (got to ask yet though) firstly does anyone know if he will be able to do it at his home or does he need some special machine. Secondly if someone knows the part number for a cam belt for a M reg, J spec NA supra then be most gratefull. And to anyone local round B'mth do u know where i can get one of these from and a rough price or is worth ordering and getting delivered. Also price and part numbers on normal service parts be helpful, the usual spark plug code and fafenth gap, oil filter, air filter. cheers lads
Steve W2
WSB2 - You should give the Toyota garage a call in Wallisdown, I have got some parts from there and found them very helpful. Have got most parts on next day delivery as well. If you call them they will give the part numbers and prices over the phone. Let me know how you get on though, how much it costs etc.
richardharmon
Three people here had our timing belts changed recently and two of us needed new tensioners too, might be worth ordering a new one of those as well just in case. A case of “might as well change it while we’ve got it apart” No idea of part numbers but Toyota supplied the parts no problem.
supRo
I had mines changed by a local specialist but Toyota would have charged about the same. I would recommend getting the tensioner changed at the same time. Can't remember exactly what I paid, Call Mr T for prices
Paul_SWZ
Yeah he could do it at his home but would be better done at a garage in case of any complications.
