sarjo
How much can a standard jap auto box take? Was told today at exeter jap car meet that a standard auto box shouldnt take any more than about 400bhp? This was by a skyline owner so not sure how correct he is. Thought I'd ask the men that know . . .

paul mac
i have 510 rwhp and the box is finally showing signs of not being happy it has 100k miles on it 25k at bpu and 5k with a single, i wouldn't worry overly if the box goes they are quite easy (and not to expensive) to pick up second hand

sarjo
Hopefully the car I'm picking up soon has got over 400bhp at the wheels so need to start looking for some alternatives or something, just in case.
