K4_H
Hi Guys, I'm having problems with my heater for some reason. It only blows out hot air when revving it high to 4 - 5000rpm. I've had it running for half hour with the rad cap off and heater blowing at max to release any air in the system but it just blows out luke warm. Could it be the thermostat, i've checked all the fuses and they're fine. Any help would be appreciated.. Regards, Kash
Steve W
'gone' all of a sudden ? or getting worse slowly ? (OR, you've only just started USING the heater so you don't know !) Stat' Water-Pump 'blades' worn Air-Pocket (unless bled as you've said ?) dodgy matrix controller 'valve' partially blocked matrix . .. ... ... ? ? ? ? ? K4_H
no, no, it deff did work because i remember saying how bloody hot it was!, i think she heard me - lol!. Piss taking thing is that i spent the day washing/polishing it inside out as i was taking it up central london with me on a night out , only to find out that i was gonna freeze to death. Cant figure it out.
Steve W
Water-Pump blades would get worse slowly.... Matrix should go slowly ! ! Valve (or, does it duct hot in/out of cabin ?? ) might be more sudden... Stat' could be sudden (stuck OPEN- does it take longer to warm up engine-wise?) Air locks are sudden... ? ? ? ? ? ? (only guessing BTW ! !) ANYONE ? ? ?
K4_H
Thanks alot Steve, anyone else have any ideas before i start stripping and fault finding?, i think i might start by changing the thermostat. The car does blow out slightly hotter air after i let it run for half hour or so with the rad cap off and heater on full blast, but it wont get hot. Hasn't anyone experienced a similair problem?. Any help would be appreciated......... Regards, Kash
Whitesupraboy2
find the pipes that lead into the heater and out. Simply touch them (be careful) if there is no water running through due to air lock then they will not be hot. (they should be so hot u cant touch for more then a second tops!!) this easiest test before replacing anything.
Terminator
Have you done an aircon ecu check to see if the engine coolant , ambient air and cabin temperature sensors all are working?

Rob_B
I used to have this problem on my car. When i first had it, the heaters worked perfectly with car idling or at speed etc. After a coupla years I noticed that hot air would only come through when I was travelling at speed. This meant that when sitting in a jam on the motorway in the cold, I had to leave a big gap in front, then stick my foot down to get the heat up before waiting in the queue again Anyway. Its gone now and I didnt have to do anything. I just assumed that there was air in the system. Maybe just leave it and see if it goes Rob.
