Elliot
I've had my Supra just over a year now. It's an import NA. When I bought it, I asked about the fuel & the guy said he used normal unleaded, which is what I've carried on using with no problems. After finding this excellent site around a month ago, I've noticed everyone is going on about Optimax. Would I be better using that or super-unleaded rather than the normal unleaded I've been using? Would it make much difference to the performance, or would it just treat the engine better? Is it just a TT thing?! Also, I'm nearly out of fuel so will be filling up in the morning, so any replies would be gratefully received by then! Is it OK to switch from normal unleaded to super unleaded or optimax, my tanks pretty low so I doubt there would be much mixing! I must sound pretty niave now! Bobbeh
I think you'd see more difference on turbo'd cars. You wont harm yours if you used it though Optimax also has cleaner burning property additives etc in it so it'll do your engine better (supposedly)
Matt Harwood
It's mainly for the TT's especially modified or imported TT's. Shell claim it's better for all cars... Try it, but it's not as beneficial on an NA as a TT HTH
Elliot
Thanks for that - I think I'll start using it then! Hopefully it will do the engine good, and maybe people who see me filling up might think it's a TT!
Mark Ayling
Bear in mind though, that (I think I'm right in saying) when you change to a different fuel the car (ECU) takes a while to "learn" it, therefore any advantage may not be apparent immediately.... Supraguy
Resetting the ECU may help it "learn" faster if you switch to Optimax full time.
Digsy
I've been running my NA on 95RON for two years now with no problems.
