Shaun.
Just noticed a mobile speed camera van out tonight on a local A road @ 8:30 pm ! Is this sort of thing common around where you live coz it's a new one on me ... pesky little money grabbing buggers, sorry I mean protecting the comunity from drivers who drive at iresponsible speeds in a 30 Mph limit e.g.34 Mph - good on 'em i say. Yeah, Shaun.

letmeshowyou
they are VERY common around the roads of essex! strangely, Essex fm are allowed to broadcast where they are going to be each day!
Pot
strangely, Essex fm are allowed to broadcast where they are going to be each day! Severn Sound does that too now and again in Gloucestershire... Of course, if their intent (As they always like to say) is to make sure drivers don't speed through accident blackspots, then surely advertising to all the drivers listening on the radio is helping their cause!... Sadly we know their intent is different, but as long as they keep spilling those lies, we get free warnings on the radio ...
ArghJae
I've seen some late in the evening in London, like there isn't enough speed cameras around.
Ian R
I though they could only be used 830 to 630 because of day light may be wrong though
Shaun.
Me too Ian, but it appears not. I wouldn't mind if it was in an accident blackspot but on a clear stretch of straight road, just after a bend with no junctions/crossing points etc ... Lee S
Nearly caught by one, it was parked behind a round about at the bottom of a hill in a dark spot where lights were out with a camera raised up on a pole so it could see traffic before they got to roundaabout and hense the driver could see them fortunately it was wet so i was in safe mode that night they must be so desperate to take such devious measures to secure a nick( if there was a wanker smillie it would be inserted here)

Lucifer
LOL. They have to publish by law where they are going to be each day on the Internet 1 month in advance. This work is permitted within the project guidelines and the conspicuity criteria allowing the use of cameras is met. Some examples would be :- http://www.edp24.co.uk/Content/Infodesk/asp/SpeedCam.asp http://www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/home/traffic_and_travel/roads/mobilespeedcameras.htm
