Tricky-Ricky
Trying to think what other possible detrimental effects it would have other than turbo wear, possible high EGTs, detonation:( ? and also can boost be raised much with cats still in place? looked at a car that was running EVC4! JohnA
With both cats in place you may not want to raise boost too much, or else you risk them overheating and melting inside (thus blocking and making things even worse!) Higher EGTs will come for free.
mikeyb10supra
in theory your forcing the turbo's to spin harder against resistance which is never a good idea
Chris Wilson
It's like asking can I run a marathon with a Tesco bag over my face with 2 small holes in it, to just about breath through. Yes, you can, but why would you want to?

Chris Wilson
Just take the boost controller off, sell it to someone, and fit de cat pipes and a restrictor ring. Job (properly) sorted!
Tricky-Ricky
My main concerns where how long has it been run like that and how high the boost was set! as it was an import, will have to take another look now i know how to check the boost controller set up.
