what is it with these reg cars, is it when they were imported, or when they were first registered, seems strange that they were sat around this long before sold.

or am i just having a thick day

There aren't many real 200x Supras in the UK. They were still very expensive before the ESVA model report introduction and so weren't imoprted much.

when i got mine as a new import it was basically have a 54 plate, or get a private one that fits the age... I went for the latter... don't be fooled by the plate on any JSpec..

It should be, but sometimes the DVLA screw up and issue a plate based on the date of first registration in the UK

mine was first reg in October 1996, so I have a P plate...

 

You can tell by the VIN plate when it was registered / manufactured...

it works like this :

the Letter,. like K or p denotes the year of manafacter,.

the number, like 02 etc,

denotes year of import.

You're meant to be given an "age related plate". Strictly speaking it should match the year of manufacture.
