francis
Hi there guys Just finished swapping my headlights out only to find my battery has been leaking a bit, it's not even that old, two years at most. Anyway I think I'd better get a new one before it gets any worse - can you guys recommend me a top quality battery for a UK TT6 that won't leak? Even better if you know where to get one cheap (delivered or around London)! Cheers, Francis
Robert
try halfords mate, HCB 005 or something like that. Great battery for 55 pound.
francis
I think that's what I had in there already, although I had a Bosch in my CRX once and that was leaking, returned it pronto for a different one which was fine.
Robert
the battery space in a CRX is tiny as my mate found out lol. anyways depends on your budget tbh
Duffers
Sorry to hijack but with my car being JDM, the one I've got installed at present has the tiny posts on it, compared to the normal posts you see. Do they sell one that has these thinner posts or do you have to start chopping and changing the connectors? Sorry for the threadjack! Paul

Paul im sure you can find a battery to fit the smaller jap spec termainals but some people just change to larger UK ones to use batteries available in most places. Duffers
Thanks Rob Just wondered about how to change the terminations on the cables to suit the bigger post batteries! I certainly don't want to be hacksawing the ends off those meaty cables and have to try crimping new ends on! Gulp! Paul

Ben-san
Francis, if you had an HCB 005 in there and have a receipt, they're guaranteed for four years. If not. Also, if it's HCB, it's maintainence free and completely sealed, which would lead me to think that yours isn't a calcium battery. Just changed mine a few days ago... Halfrauds, HCB005, around £55, with a 4 year guarantee. Plenty of cold crank amps at 510.
garethr
Not that it means anything, but I just bought a Halfords HCB005 for the Soarer and it has the same post size as the Japanese (as in "fitted in Japan") battery which it replaced. EDIT: Just found this http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=35928 "It appears that some Supras, perhaps the later vvti ones, have small terminals so either you need a battery with small terminal posts, or replace the terminals with more ‘normal’ sized ones." EDIT again: Last I heard the Toyota battery for the Soarer (and maybe the Supra?) was £55, so it may be worth asking Mr T.
