supra dan
just been to get nos fitted, but the guy wouldnt do it because there was detonation on full boost (1.55 bar), on his rolling road. he said it wasnt bad but was definatly there and nos would push it over the edge.i guess i should fit a controller and lower the boost, say 1.2/1.3 bar, any idea how much power this would loose? Wez
Is this a UK or J-Spec car, how long have you been running 1.55bar and what other mods do you have? If its a standard J-Spec then you should lower it anyway.
Mark Kindell
1.55 bar if your on stock tubbies then no wonder he wouldn't fit it ! supra dan
j spec, fmic, exhaust, ind kit, remapped ecu, no cats. wanted 75 bhp wet kit. he said higher octane fuel might help, used optimax with stp octane (dont think it did anything) booster. think its standard turbos
michel lane
you want nos with jap injectors !!!! you MAD , RUNNING 1.55 BOOST.......ummmm i would consider this DONT DI IT ?!!!.
Wez
You should really try and bring the boost down to about 1.2bar and then a wet NOS should be ok as there is additional fuel being injected with the N2O. I would make sure that you get the AFR checked with and without NOS running. :flame Dev
supra dan
i dont really know what fuel pump or injectors i have, but he said fueling was fine, just too much boost, wet kit would add more fuel anyway as long as the pump is up to it. anyone know how much a boost controller is? i fancy the apexi one
eyefi
if uv got 1.5bar with no bc then u wont change it much with a bc.

eyefi
[looking from the fromt of the car into engine bay] the MAP sensor is mounted on the left side, near the top of the intake manifold (near the cam cover). its got a hose going into it from the bottom and a cable with three wires. eyefi
here's the basic problems u have:- stock jspec fuel pump is too weak at high boost, esp with age. stock MAP sensor stops at 1.18 bar. stock injectors (@stock fuel pressure) run at over 90% at 1.2bar. do u have an aftermarket fuel pressure reg? how did he know if yr fueling was ok? wb02? what ecu is it? did u buy the car in this state of tune? just tell me to fuck off, if u cant b arsed

tDR
You're gonna melt some pistons if you don't fit a restrictor ring, never mind blowing the turbos.
Adam W
You don't say who checked your fuelling or how they did it, but PLEASE get a second opinion. 1.55 bar on a standard J-spec fuel system is INSANE.

Barry
NOS actually cools the in cylinder temp, so will probably stop the det at that sort of boost level, not make it worse.
