ChrisB
I changed all my brake pads the other day and then the day after we had bad floods, i had to drive through one or 2 erm large puddle (nearly upto bonnet) and since then the brakes have been clunking at low speeds, dont know weather it was doing it before the floods or even bvefore i changed the pads, i dont think it has, but it could be something ive just noticed any suggestions? thanks Chris
Supra_Al
......up to your bonnet Chris!!!!!!!! I'm surprised your car is still running!......not sure if it's a good idea to have your cats quenched (if you have any) by water while running? Did any water get into your car? Sorry, i'm no help on the 'clunk' issue, just suprised at the depth of water you traversed.Al.
ChrisB
i know i wasnt best pleased abou tthe depth of the water but hadnt realised till i was halfway through, and was very woprried abou thte effect it was going to have on the poor car, both cats are still in, but they seem ok, everything is running fine apart from the clunking noise. It really was freak weather though went from sun to really dark with street lights coming on and lots and lots of rain:moo:

ChrisB
there was another picture of that in a paper but it had the transit van man sat on the roof of his cab with the van in the middle of the flood, so dont worry he got what he deserved

Could it be the pad vibrating - goes when you press brake slightly? You have cross drilled rotors - can be worse if edge of pad catches grooves? Probably talking boll0x
ChrisB
there is one of the anti-rattle things missing, but i dont think the noise is coming from that one, but it goes off when i brake, and it brakes well enough maybe i should just ignore:confused: gaz - if id went through the puddle with the transit van the full car would have been under water lol
