mr keef
Ello all hopefully in the new year i'll be going single,i know some of the guys on here have done bits and bobs on how to do it,and i know theres a bloke in the usa done a quick how to guide also, but is there anyone that's gone single on a jspec manual, and done the work themselves, that can post up a how to guide, that can be stuck in the FAQ section. As i plan on doing the work myself, and it would be a massive help to quite a few people on here. cheers

Chris Wilson
Fitting the thing will be utterly trivial compared to getting it to work properly.(Mapping, stopping tubular manifolds cracking, wastegate, exhaust and intake plumbing runs, fine tuning the turbo sizing, heat issues, blah blah)
SupraHuman
I've done all the work on my single conversion, and it is like CW said, the work is in the prepping and tuning.Still got a few issues with my map-ecu.Nothing that can't be sorted though.Just not by me. Clarkey
Is any bloody ones single out there actually reliable and working right? Mine works well - considering am using a SAFC-2 and 550 injectors. Soon to install an S-ITC, EBC & an FPR. The only problems I'm experiencing are .. a misfire at high revs. Which I'm thinking to be plugs or coilpacks. And classic warped brakes symptonms from my 3 month old UK fronts. God knows how I've warped them - always use the handbrake when stationary & I not done any stupid 100mph heavy braking. Unless a rattley loose front nearside brake pad in the caliper .. could contribute to it. Dunno - but that's a job for Phoenix.

Gordon F
Could be a trailing calpier if your doing everything else right! Dont you mean a binding caliper - trailing caliper is something completely different. UK fronts do seem very prone to warping. They dont mind the high speed stops, but do like being cooled down nicely afterwards.
Lucifer
Brrain shutting down, meant to type trailing piston, but yes binding whatever
