Ian W
not at all mate, that's more than likely what it is although i'd get yourself a stock airbox and filter back on asap cos those things are crap.
Darren-K
cheers supraman ive now had the car longer than the previous owner ,...2 months and ive kept my eye on everything, water, oil, tyre pressure etc ive heard that the stock air box is the best option for performance,. is this correct ? cheers not at all mate, that's more than likely what it is although i'd get yourself a stock airbox and filter back on asap cos those things are crap. Rayman
yeh i expect the stock item has its own type of cold air feed, im sure someone will confirm in a minute?
supRo
Stock box has two air feeds and protected from the heat! The filter mass is larger than any aftermarket induction kits. Foam/metal Gauze induction cones are not as good at filtration as stock filter. Aftermarket kit suck in the hot engine air!
Darren-K
thanks for all the replies on this, is it pretty unanimous then that its the car just trying to suck more air thru an inferior filter ?
supRo
probably, try and find a member near you and take them for a spin and get their opinion
Keith C
The noise is also probably intentional - one of the 'reasons' for fitting this kind of filter is so you can hear the induction noise. However, as stated, there's a whole load of downsides simply for a cool noise!
