First of all let me say hello, this is my first post on the forum.

I test drove a 97 auto TT Supra today, first time I have driven one. While accelerating there was a slight whistle when my foot was on the accelerator, when I took my foot off the sound went. This happened on both hard and light acceleration. Is this normal?

The car was nice, £8995 for a 1997 on a P in black. 75k miles.

Stupid import laws, there a load of crap eh!

96 car would be okay, but this is all just talk at the moment.

PM me with what you could offer. Anything going through at the moment sort of thing.

Yeah perfectly normal, you hear the first one spooling as it starts spinning straight away from idle, rather than a single turbo'd car that would spool around 1k ish

More like 1800-2000rpm for the TT and 3000+ for the single.

I've NEVER seen a turbo car that makes boost on idle, or at 1000rpm come to think of it :D

It would eliminate any lag though ;)

I mean begins to SPOOL from idle. The turbo is always spinning. You are right the first blower begins to boost at around 1.5k revs.
