Parts help :)

Just thought I'd bring this back to the top as the Supra went in the garage tonight only to come back with same problem...

Its the oil pressure switch, which seems to be a common problem now (after reading through some previous posts on this topic).

Its also an inexpensive fix but involves a bit of labour and the air con is in the way.

Oh and Thorin, for reference that part number isnt a crank seal, or isnt anymore, its some wierd metal thingy...

Well thats wierd. Just double checked that part number and it definately says "Seal (for crankshaft)" they wouldn't change part numbers would they? Surely that would just be confusing.

I just checked and it is SEAL (FOR CRANKSHAFT) and has a PNC of #15101A, it's a common part used on lots of Toyota engines.

Gaz.

The part number identifies each part, the PNC is, as I understand, the type of part and common across all cars. I guess it's used as a quick way to find parts for different cars, you learn the PNC's for parts and take it from there.

For example an oil filter has a PNC of 15601, in EPC go to menu 6, "Part Number List" and enter 15601 in "Part Name Code" field and press F10. It fills in the Part Name and then lists oil filters for every Toyota :-) When you are in your vehicle section you can also do a PNC search.
