Replacement Clutch

If I know my clutch is on its way out i.e. squeling evertime my foot comes of the clutch - what bits I'm I needed to quote to get replaced??

There is a supra being broken and I need to know what I'm asking for and what sort of price I should be paying, is it really worth me vulturing a used clutch off a crashed supra?

IMO.......no. It will cost you the same to have somebody fit a new or used clutch. Do you really want to pay the same again a few months later just for them to replace your second hand clutch with another ? The only time it's worthwhile is if you know the donor car had a fairly new clutch in it with very few miles on it.

As for parts needed the minimum would be a new clutch plate, but you are better off replacing the pressure plate and release bearing as well due to the ageing of these units and access required. Also your problem sounds like it could be release bearing related anyway. Don't want to pay somebody to just replace the clutch plate only to find you have to pay them the same again to then replace the other parts.

If i was doing the job i'd replace clutch plate, pressure plate, release bearing, possibly pilot bearing dependent on condition, rear engine oil seal if any signs of weeping and flywheel bolts if you disturb the flywheel at all. I don't think you will need a new flywheel as i'm sure the NA is not a dual mass arrangement.

is that pilot bearing the same as a gearbox mainshaft spigot bearing?
