Conrad
Just wondered if it were possible? It sounds really daft to ask but I've been looking at getting a wheel clamp for security but they're all too small. My front wheels are 235 wide and back are 265 wide and most clamps are only 220 wide. Just wondered if the invinceble Sup could withstand those nasty clampers! edd_t
havnt had the Supe clammed. but my MG has 235's on, and that got clamped once. its had chains that the clamper wraped around the suspension and padlocked together. no idea where you would get such a thing though. Lucifer
Do a search for PJB Gates security. He makes them for the clampers.
Sub_Culture
Needed to pop into Kingston earlier this year in my RX (which Ive sold now for my Supe!).... Only wanted one thing, so chanced it in a private car park. Sure enough, came back literally 90 seconds later and there were two ar*eholes, sorry, 'wardens', trying to clamp my car. They were sitting on the floor with a somewhat puzzled look, as; A> The car was lowered and they couldnt get their fat grubby hands round the wheel and B> their poxy little chain wouldnt have fitted anyway! Praise the Lord for lowered modified cars! Ha ha ha! Andy P.S. Here is the offending wheel!

hogmaw
I've been clamped but nothing spesh re wheels just 17s, but they are able to cope with 4x4s etc, so why not supes?
Sub_Culture
Quality, this was what I was on about. Would love to have seen their faces! Must admit, I had a pretty decent chuckle once I recovered from the panic that had set in with potentially losing money to those scumbags! Dont think they quite saw the funny side though! Pete
I wonder where they'd stand if they damaged your wheels trying though?
Sub_Culture
From memory, they would have to pay for any damages. not sure what legal rule this would come under, but its still a crime to damage someone's property, regardless of if it's on someone else's. Kopite
Sub - did you get off then? what happens if you come back before the clamp's on? Can they stop you from driving off?
Scoboblio
I *think* I remember a story about this..... someone got clamped and managed to deflate the tyre and remove it. They then took it to the police station (undamaged) and handed it in as lost property. The clamping firm had no legal basis to complain as no damage was caused to their property. Darren-K
if they try and stop you then they are arresting you and illegal parking is a non arrestable offence.
