Heat Problems

How does your water temp gauge look. If it is running in the normal range nothing to worry about.

At the moment I would think every one is running a bit warm due to ambient temperatures being so high.

Just take it easy and wait for the air temperatures to drop and see if the perceived problem is still there.

With the strenght of ther sun you will get a lot of radient heat off the dash. My is roasting where other parts of cool due to air con cooling

Concur that the recent weather will tend to cause the temperature inside to climb very high.

Is the heat you are referring to the air temperature inside or is it located specifically in one area of the inside. For example the transmission tunnel.

Would tend to agree with the environment heat, however this specifically seems to be coming from behind the centre column, behind the stereo - now this never was but when I remove the face plate off my stereo its roasting, quite certain its not the stereo but behind that centre column I seem to be letting in much heat the entire centre column (even where your left leg leans on the inside) is quite hot.

I imagine it like there is heat coming in from the engine bay.

Water temp is fine, no warning lights for anything.

OK really stupid question here so preparing to be shot down :twak: - I've had the car since Oct last year, not had any services or checks, personally topped up the oil and thats about it. Any obvious spanks to the side of the head here??

I don't know what mods have been done but the engine bay and the transmission tunnel will get really hot in the recent weather.

Regarding your other statement. Depends on the mileage done. People seem to do thier oil changes at 3000m intervals, some at 6000miles and others at 9000miles.

Personally I try and get mine serviced every 6000 miles or 6 months whichever is sooner and at the very most every 9000 miles/6 months. But my car is basically standard.

It would also depend on how it's been driven as well. I would go for less than 3000 miles if it spent all it's time on the track for example.

Cambelts should be changed every 60,000 miles along with plugs.

Have you got a service manual with your car? have a look in that and see what needs checking/changing at the different service intervals.

*Edited for spelling mistake*
