Matt Harwood
I had an FSE fitted to my auto by Leon some time ago. I'm just trying to remove it to fit it to the manual car and convert the auto back to stock.... How does the adaptor come off? - I assumed you'd undo the two securing bolts, remove the fuel line and it would come off, but noooooo. It's loose and it'll wiggle around but I can't remove it. Is there something underneath holding it in or does it need a bit of brute force and ignorance?
mos
Mine is held in place simply by the two bolts and a rubber seal. Mine may be different than yours though as im N/A
swamp
are the claims about these valves true i.e. response/economy ect.?
Matt Harwood
Economy? - Are we talking about the same cars? I had a Walbro pump and FSE regulator fitted at the same time and it certainly made a difference... Mos, there must be a difference 'casue it ain't letting go... Alex
Swamp, they run slightly higher pressure which can help fudge fix the hole you get in the fueling on a j-spec running 1.2bar+
Matt Harwood
I think I've just found a third bolt underneath I'll give that a go tomorrow as it looks like the throttle body needs unbolting, and I can't be bothered to do it now...
Ian C
Matt, if it's the same adaptor I had (sits on the fuel rail where the stock regulator goes) you should be able to undo the two top bolts and, in the best Haynes manual style, simple slide out It's got a small tube going into the fuel rail and around this tube is a big fat o-ring, so you really need to jiggle the thing around to get it out. Oo-er missus, etc. -Ian
Matt Harwood
You don't think I need to remove the 3rd bolt directly underneath the adaptor? With the two bolts removed I can move it around but it doesn't seem to want to lift out... Are you saying I should be more aggressive ? - There's definatly nothing else holding it in? Matt Harwood
Thanks Ian, it came out with a bit of help from a panel lifter!
