MR.B
Buggar! You can set it so the voices come through the tv until you get it sorted I guess. I'm on PGR quite a bit - give you a race sometime if you want.

MR.B
Lol. Not sure whether you've got mine mate? - JOHNI3OY. Not quite sure how it works but you seem to be able to change your gamertag at will on the 360. I changed mine a couple of times when I first got it. Bobbeh
I saw this machine in action for the first time today, playing COD2 on a nice plasma TV, it did look great and I was very impressed as it ran much nicer than my pc. However there were areas of slowdown in game which I was suprised to see, especially for one for one of the initial titles to be released for this platform and they've not even started pushing what this machine can actually do?! Still, a worth console for sure
Lucifer
You will find this on early titles, due to the programmers not being offet with all teh tricks of teh new hardware. Just look at the early ps2 titles as an example.
Bobbeh
But its just using pc hardware? They should be used to it. Latter PS2 titles became slower, like GTA because they were pushing the PS2 to its limits. What games were slow for you?
Lucifer
Dude, its not all about crunching numbers, the new CG hardware on there has a few new features such as Local paralell polygon shifting which is great, but I wouldnt like to try to make it work!!! Bobbeh
Yeah, but Im only talking about the smoke effects that were on this game, it sloooowed it down. Still it ran most of the time flawlessly in a high res/detail environment, which did look great.
SkyJawa
Hi mate - nice to see you were impressed. The BIGGEST issue with CoD2 is with the smoke effects, they are fakking superb, but on the PC you need a massive spec machine to cope with them. On mine the FPS halves when smoke is involved And that will be the failing of the 360. TBH, my biggest critism is it should have 1GB RAM. My PC is running P4 2.9, 256MB DDR3 6600GT graphics and 1024MB RAM and it still struggles with smoke....... However - my PC cost a hell of a lot more and being as they aren't even up to one third of its ability, the future looks promising
RedM
Is there a Supra in PGR3?
Lucifer
Ram isnt an issue at all. Dont forget you will have over a gig of OS on a PC to fit into that RAM and SWAP file. When your running a lightweight OS you dont need alot of RAM. IMHO the biggest bottle neck in the 360 , is the FSB speed and architecture of the dvd ROM, but still its streets ahead of anyting else. MR.B
Is there a Supra in PGR3? Not that i'm aware of There's a Skyline GTR (R34)
Bobbeh
but still its streets ahead of anyting else. Well of course as its designed to be a 'next generation' super console... yet it struggles with a game built for this gen of pcs! I was suprised thats all. Deffo worth the money if you dont have a PC... if you dont want to wait for the PS3
