Wiring experts, HELP!

Jspec Germany

Recommended Posts

So I'm pulling a Turbo Timer that is "kaput" as the Germans like to say, and I'm now worried about where the wiring harness was jacked into. Can somebody identify what this bundle is and whether or not something else is supposed to be plugged in here? Here are the pics:

First is the Timer itself. Some crappy FET that came on the car but has since quit.

Second is near the ignition from the front coming from the timer on the left going to a bundle on the right.

Third is on center console, right side of auto gear shift, white wire from timer (power I assume) jumpered into brown wire with white stripe.

Fourth pic is where the harness goes to a bundle/connector at knee level under the dash just above the dianostics port bundle.

Please help. Need to identify these wires and know how to procede with removal. Thanks.

41 minutes before bumping, that's an impressive lack of patience :p

Anyway - not sure what your dilemma is here, surely you just track the turbo timer's loom backwards and disconnect it from everything it's tapped into? I don't think I'm grasping the problem here so can you try and explain it again :)

Hey Ian, you know how it is dude. When you're knee deep in a project and then get stumped and don't wanna' break your sh*t, you sometimes have to ask for a second opinion.

Unfortunately, when I went back to check on progress with the thread, I noticed it was no longer in the "new posts" que so I was worried others like yourself wouldn't see it. That's the reason behind the bump. Is there a way to change how far back your individual "new posts" thread tracker looks back?

Superhuman, thanks dude. That was exactly what I needed. Just a little info and a push.

I wasn't being funny with you (except maybe the 41 minute bump bit :) ) just that I thought maybe there was another issue with the wiring that I wasn't quite understanding :)

Rest assured I don't use the new posts feature, I just trawl through all the ones that go bold ;)

Understood Ian. I guess I wasn't clear in what I was looking for. Next time I'll insert some crayon pictures and try to be more specific with my questions.

I've just spent the last two hours doing the gymnist act upside down under the driverside dash pulling all the vents and other crap in order to remove an old inoperative FET turbo timer. Now it's on to pulling the gauge cluster and installing the TRD 320 click speedo. What fun I'm sure that will be.
