Well I would go for a high powered r33 for 20k you can get a minter runnning bout 600-700hp, my friend was looking at a UK spec 33 with a bulletproof engine, it had all the internals done on it it could hanle 700hp but was runnin about 650hp making it super reliable, the r34 for a good one your looking over 25 k iam afraid. The 34 is a nicer looking car but I still have a soft spot for the 33, and their is some gorgeous r33 out there, well happy shopping.

Exactly!! There aren't any there!! How rare and cool would that be!! :D

Be prepared to pay a LOT of money making it legal. Cali has real stiff emission laws and the 34 was sorta technicaly "banned" in a way. Basicaly USA never got the R34 and hence they were never crash aproved. A few very well of companies imported some new ones and crashed them to get the " type aproval" now the true legal r34 in the states come through them and fetch a very high premium. There are also lots that havent been aproved driving about at the owners risk. So if you imported and r34 to the states you would have to get it legalised and god knows what the cost of this would be, it would also make it worth a fortune over there also. I know of one liner over there that has been all legal and it has cost him nearly $15K to do it ..mind you he said it was cheaper than buying one allready done that was at $65K that was 3 years ago now mind you . Also all states differ.

My housemate is fed up with his Lotus V8tt' date=' thinking about a Liner, anyone know what he could get for £20-25K and where to look?[/quote']

Don't forget - there is no model report available for the R34 if he's looking to import (same prob as the supra) unless he's willing to step up for the single emmissions test and there is no set price on one of those.
