Mine's ECU's

Someone I know with a Skyline says that all Mine's ECU's have to be sent back to Jap-land to be reprogrammed for any changes.  Now I could have sworn someone said on here yonks ago that they could reprogram them.

Is this the case, or am I going bonkers?

Right spoken to a very nice chap at Option.

He says they can re-map the race spec one but not my bog standard one...if I understood him correctly.

If they do do a re-map they have a chap in Japan that comes over and does the work.

He said the stock level one was fine on 98Ron fuel (which leaves just one option) and the at it's map is for 1bar which contradicted Shin at ProSpec who said 1.1bar. This chap at Option felt that Shin would be a better person to speak to with regard to getting the unit re-mapped ...though he swore on a stock car the ECU would be fine!

When I mentioned I was running 1.3+bar he suggested I didn't! But that if I was going to get a S-AFC to try and eek some extra juice out of the injectors...when on stock ceramic turbo's.

Does that help.

He basically said if you want it done properly best to save hard get every engine mod you'll ever want bought. Sling it all in at once with a MINES Race ECU (£3K) or a Motec and leave it at that....

Guys, I have heard that Hypersports & Racing can reprogram the Mines ECU's :)

Really?? Hmmmm....I call your bluff.

Mines won't support it if they do reprogram it....and I bet they actually can just attach another device to fool the MINES unit.
