Really annoying squeak

Parksy

Recommended Posts

Seems to just have started. Seems to be coming from around the auxillary belt area but can't tell exactly.

Did a search and noticed this seems to be pretty common, especially when garaging the car up over the winter and not really driving it.

Could it be anything to worry about?

Can't remember it being there (or hadn't noticed it) until a few days back.

From what I can gather some people think the belt may require changing as it is slack. Others seem to clear up once moisture etc seems to get out the air. Others like mine at the moment only seems to clear up after a 10/15 minute drive.

Is it worth getting it looked at/worrying about, or is there an easy fix?

Car runs sound, just a bit annoying that the squeak is so loud, makes the car sound poorly maintained to a by stander when just having a short run out :(

Dunno wether to just take it up to Envy for a quick once over...

Any help appreciated :)

Belt change, or possibly the PAS pump bearings are on their way out, like mine were :) Took about 2 years for the bearing race to collapse though :D

We talking about the aux belt still? :) If so it don't seem like an expensive/big job from what I've read?
