GeordieSteve
Just filling it in and it's REALLY poorly set out: "Was the car you are considering insuring with Pay As You Drive first registered during or after 1986?" choices are yes or no

tbourner
Whoa no way, I don't want them having a GPS thing in my car, so if I did crash they'd say "yes but you were travelling at 36mph approximately 26 minutes before the accident so your insurance is void!!". Pig
is that how it works! NOOOOOOOOO way. more like 136!
ArghJae
I'm sure that they can't use the GPS speed against someone as it's not accurate enough.
tbourner
is that how it works! NOOOOOOOOO way. more like 136! Exactly!! Paving the way for GPS based speed control? Making it 'OK' in the public eye to have GPS trackers in our cars? "Well we have them for the insurance why not to stop speeding!" http://www.payasyoudriveinsurance.co.uk/info.htm And GPS speed is a hell of a lot more accurate than speed laser guns!!! ArghJae
I know that Police can't convict on GPS based speeds, but they may be able to convict if they download the data from the GPS system in the car
Nick
I find all this very, very worrying and I'm not going to have any part in it. Problem is, too many fools will sign up and not take a step back and see the bigger picture...
Ian C
Dudes, they can tell which lane you are in, so yeah, it's accurate enough. And yes, it's terrifying and I'm glad to see some people realising the wider implications of it all. The only good news is the project is behind and turning into an offshored nightmare So I heard. -Ian
