Blow Off Valve(s)

Chaps....

Went to Leon's today to pick my car up, but there's still problems with it so its staying there for another couple of days. :(

The Blitz SSBOV I have is dumping boost at high revs, as if the valve is opening up before it should.

Leon's going to blank it off and unplug the standard BOV for a quick/cheap fix, but I'll want to get it sorted at some point.

Firstly, what will I lose/gain by switching back to the standard BOV? (apart from the loud noise, which is nevertheless important :p )

Also, is it worth me trying to repair the Blitz, should I replace it with a different/better one or is it not really worth having one at all? Currently its welded onto the downpipe from the throttle body (hardpipe), so it could be a pain to replace I guess (?)

Any info appreciated.

TIA,

Mark.

If your downpipes ally you can put a HKS bov in with the fitting from leon or it can go in the stock location , my blitz bit the dust at leons too , i just bought a HKS off him and we put it on there and then .

John, Leon said you had trouble with yours as well.

Not sure how easy it would be to fit another type of BOV in the same location, I guess it would need some welding work?

This is what its like at the mo:

Mark the original Blitz ones were sh1te. The new ones are excellent. They fit the same flange. They have a nice little part throttle feature.

It has a small orifice to take care of the small part throttle lifts rather than a large opening. Should be quicker to respond.

Hi Nathan.

I had a HKS SSBOV fail on me on the engine dyno.

However, I have both now BTW:p One push one pull.

Oooh....my blow-off orifice is bigger thans yours....;)

I presume the Blitz ones are still push type then? Must admit I do prefer pull type as you know they will never open under boost. Not unless they break in half anyway.....that wasn't what happened to your HKS one was it?....gulp...

Cheers,
