mkirby
Looking to get rid of my desktop and screen and go to a laptop in the next week or 2 so would appreciate any feedback or ideas Will need to be a decent spec, mainly use for surfing the web but also for some online gaming and some work as well. Been looking at a few of the Sony ones as i do like them but TBH not too concerned what make, read a few results and the Acers although being a budget brand seem to get pretty good results? Looking to spend around the £700 mark poss more if its worth it. Also will be looking to sell my PC on so hey if anyone has a top spec laptop and wants to do a deal let me know Many thanks Mike
ivan
Take a look at the ones on Novatech (http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/nbranges.html). I usually get these for the office.

MaveriK
Look on the dell website, ensure you dont over spec the model and neglect to upgrade the memory. Also keep your eye out for their deals ie double memory free delivery. Just building a Dell Inspiron 6000 for a customer, first glace it looks good but dont do what he did and NEGLECT THE MEMORY UPGRADE. Do you see a pattern forming here?? mkirby
About the only thing that several people have said is keep clear of the dell ones?? apart from their top of the line one but its about 2.5k!! MaveriK
Never had any trouble with Dell machines but each to his own i guess. Which ever solution you go for ensure you have a decent Anti-Virus, Spyware and Firewall set up. Oh, and dont forget the memory!!
Lewis
I get good trade rates on most laptop manufacturers, let me know if you have a particular one that you are interested in. Lewis
