LSXAndrew
Hello! I have read through quite a few BPU threads and wanted to get started on a few fun mods while I clean up the car. Fully stock 1995 JDM TT V160 car, and all I've done is fit an MVP Motorsports Max Air Box so far. My midpipe shielding isn't in the best shape, so I purchased a 3" catless midpipe from BlackLotus Performance here in the states. My plan was to keep the 1st cat/stock downpipe for a while to make sure I don't overboost the JDM turbos. Is there any harm in running the 3" catless midpipe (and completely stock exhaust otherwise) alone? No 255LPH Walbro, no colder plugs, no BCC, no catback. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't risking anything before going with the rest of the BPU upgrades. I'll probably keep the stock downpipe and cat to cut back on any smell. mattdavies
I ran a similar setup up with a catback, and when the weather is a bit cold on a highway pull I would hit boost cut. I think you should be alright with just a Catless midpipe, being honest if you do hit boost cut with it then you have two options, Install a boost cut defender, or put the stock midpipe back on ( its only 4 bolts )

Your replies on here and the SupraForums have been amazing, thank you for helping out people new to the platform 30 years on. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to need colder plugs and the fuel pump before putting this on! Thank you again

Thank you again I mean for the cost I would do them anyway. Just for piece of mind.

I could move to the NGK Iridium BKR6EIX or BKR7EIX (currently have BKR6EIX-11) and a Walbro 255lph.

This thread suggests you will be ok upto 1bar on your current BKR6EIX
