Foxx
Hi all, Anyone know what cat this is? Was expecting it to be an OEM one..Google didn't help. Many thanks
Swampy442
Without being obvious, it's made by Apexi.... What more do you need to know?
Foxx
Sorry, that question was a bit vague. Having emissions trouble at mot on a TT vvti (this cat plus second cat fitted) with very high CO 8% Vs 0.3 limit. Guessing this is an O2 sensor from the search. I have the part number (89465-19725) but can only find parts from japan. Is that the only option now? Any other known issues that cause this id appreciate you letting me know. Many thanks Edited Wednesday at 05:40 PM by Foxx (see edit history)
TuneR
Not a pro but looking at those readings you've something really wrong as they're way out. Too much for just a cat imo, car running very rich so you o2 sensor is a good shout and you'd probably get one from Rock Auto in the US quicker. Also is that oil temp reading at the end right, if it is an Apexi cat its probably a sports cat that needs to be roasted to work.

I tried rock auto. the latest supra I could select was 1998 and it has us/cad flags next to it. I guess that downstream/upstream (see pics) means these ones are for cars with 2 sensors so probably aren't correct. I couldn't find any others for a vvti even with searching the OEM part number. Any other help appreciated.
TuneR
You could try the EPC site below and compare the O2 sensors to see if they're similar, i know the US had a vvti GE so maybe they're similar. Also the second cat on Jap vvti GTE aren't great for emissions, its more a silencer pipe (no honeycomb effect). Dunno why it was changed but iirc mine never passed with just the rear. The front always worked on its own though. https://toyota.epc-data.com/
