Stereo turning off when speakers cranked up?

Hello guys,

weird issue but when my speakers are turned up the stereo will basically cut out and restart itself. Regardless if the engine is running or not. I've checked and the factory speaker amps have been bypassed. I have a sony XAV3005DB (i think) which as 4x55w amps built in, then a amp and sub combo in the boot. The problem still persists with the sub unplugged.

I unplugged the rear speakers (still factory) and tested the fader settings, if its just one speaker playing (front right) its fine, but as soon as you start to mix in front left it will cut out at about 75% right 25% left.

Any ideas what my issue could be? i've had the door cards off before and there are aftermarket speakers in the doors. Continuity of the earth is fine (little resistance).

i had similar before when one of my door speaker wires were touching the sound deadening in the doors, like it was earthing somewhere
