Nick
Cheers nick, was thinking of the bridge climb, but not so good with heights! would be a great way to get over my fear though! I did it with a mate that's sh&t scared of heights, but he wasn't going to let that stop him. He said the worst bit was the start where you walk to the first pillar on a cat walk, but after that he was fine. You use a rock climbing type clip to secure yourself to a cable that runs up the bridge so that you can't fall if you slip.

Honestly it's a must-do and if it helps jim overcome his fear of heights then all well and good. i've done bridge-climb twice now on 2 separate trips. Er, i would advise against climbing Ayers Rock though. - ludicrously dangerous, bl00dy high, bloody hard-work, and the locals take it as an insult as Ayers Rock (or Uluru) is sacred ground. A lot of people have died climbing it and when you go to the base and look up the "route" you can see why..
ivan
"Tips on going round Australia" Hmmm - a boat would be good. Definitely go round, don't land whatever you do....
