eyefi
im just moving a few bits around in my car and have a couple of wiring questions. on my hks turbo timer there is a brown wire with blue chevrons on it that is not connected to anything. does anyone know what this is for? thanks,
Thorin
I never did find out what it was for certain. Think it was for connecting to RPM wire on the ECU or something. Mine isn't connected and works fine. Might be only for some cars?
eyefi
i found a manual for a "hks type1 turbo timer" on mkiv.com. it says the brown is an rpm connection, it also says that there is a blue wire that is a connection to a speed sensor. my TT doesnt have this blue wire?! the manual states that there is another blue wire that is labeled as 12v accessory that goes to the tree pin conection, my TT has this. how do u tell which turbo timer is which. mine has no label or marking to suggest anything. mine is silver has 4 diamond shape buttons, marked m,s,t1,t2. Taken from HKS US: Turbo Timer Type-1 includes all of the Type-0 features, PLUS several measurement tools including a speed warning display, a two-stage engine RPM warning display, 0-400 meter acceleration time measurement and stopwatch features for lap timing. http://www.hksusa.com/categories/?id=1091&rsku=
