imi
Hi All hoping someone can help, have a look at the attached diagram Want to wire a thermostat to a Fan so that it can control when it comes on and off - seems pretty simple however i would like someone to help complete the circuit & confirm whether the rest of the connections in the diagram are correct. i'm thinking that the SL from the fan connects to the LIVE from the mains... Appreciated.
Tricky-Ricky
You should be using a relay in between the thermo switch and the power supply (battery) and the fan motor, I will see if I can knock up a quick diagram. Here you go this is how I would go about wiring it,
imi
Hi Buddy Thanks for the reply - I am connecting this to the 220V mains in the house & not to the 12V car battery. I think the thermostat has a built in relay - here is the user manual
Tricky-Ricky
Sorry fella, it was late, lol, It depends on which way the thermostat completes the circuit it could be NO or NC com is usually the feed, so looking at that the live from the supply should go to COM, however like I said I always thought that the switching should be on the neutral side rather than the live. imi
Thanks for the direction - I managed to fix it. For the thermostat it was. LIVE > Com SL > NO N & L for the FAN to the fused mains.
