The strange thing is the gearbox on my supra is marked on the chassis as A343E but the removed gearbox is marked as an A340E, and the Toyota dealer says A340E is the no. they get from the VIN code ? The A340E removed DOES have the 5 solenoids. The extra solenoid controls hydraulic pressure from the throttle, instead of using a throttle cable Mine is the A343E yes. From a quick search, the NA auto box (A340E) has 3 solenoids, the TT (A343E) has 5 solenoids..
