michael
Still condensation? http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=37409 How do you know it's 'smoke' - does it smell of anything? Is it definately white rather than blue?
adi2009
Ya it does smell of smoke, well i think it would be fair to say it was slightly blueish in color. When i posted the previous thread i thought that it might just be due to the fact that the engine was not used for a long time but the problem has persisted since. Bob
valve stem seals? Hoping to do mine next month, as I get the dreaded smoky start up sometimes.
wkdtime
had the same problem on mine, it was the valve stem seals, you might find some mornings its fine. id get it sorted as soon as, if you just go on as it is over a long period of time you will get carbon build up in the engine where the oil has been burnt on startup not to mention oil loss, as it will loose oil whilst driving as well. for the time being if your due an oil change use 15w50 fully synth mobil one until you manage to sort out the problem.
