Guest gzaerojon
i just had my dash apart and took out my milometer, i noticed that you can see everything on the display that should light up, one of which is the "miles" light. so i guess my question is can it be converted to show in miles? has the display got the clever stuff in it, or is it just a display and the data is send from an ECU? straightsix
There's a link somewhere that shows how to move two resistors to convert it from km to display miles....proper job!! Think it's on supras.co.uk or something
Guest gzaerojon
cheers dude, i'll take a look. will it mess up my current miles?
Class One
Mine's a jap import orginally in Km's converted to miles. so if it reads 57000km when you convert it will read 57000 miles. Mine was certified when it was done/imported you may well want to keep a record if/when you come to sell.
Guest gzaerojon
do you know if the miles are held on an ecu somewhere? or on the milometer itself?
Jake
The recorded mileage is retained by the Odometer
blitz supra
Just to add to this My ODO Still shows km but clocks up in miles however i was told that the actual "total mileage covered" will now clock up much slower with the odo now showing in miles, (although km still on screen) i was told roughly add 6k miles on per year onto the total km figure on the total miles covered If so my car shows 102000 kms can this be converted to miles and corrected to the correct miles figure not 102000 miles? This should then read correctly with both odo and total miles no longer in kms hope this isn't to confusing
Lez
If you are brave enough to play with your odo then take a look at this;

Guest gzaerojon
just another thought, if i do this will it count in miles?
stevie_b
just another thought, if i do this will it count in miles? See this link: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/peter.betts/supra/TechTips/odometer.htm It's written by Pete Betts, who's very respected on here. I guess the method described by straightsix here is the same as the Peter Betts one, but I haven't examined them to confirm. When you do the conversion, it'll count up in miles, but you'll either need to get the current value converted from kms to miles, or get a certificate like Class One said. straightsix
That's what I was talking about. Well done finding it. The write up should answer any questions
